Nataliia Naismith

The first Music at Aden concert, in more than 18 months, will see conductor and cellist Gareth John together with Violinist Nataliia Naismith performing a range of classical and light music. 'Come and enjoy again the magic that is live music in the Park’ as the duo perform against the impressive back-drop of the Aden Mansion House.

Gareth John (cello)

Gareth has enjoyed many years as a recital and concerto soloist, and has recorded for BBC Radio 3. He is the former principal cello with Aberdeen Sinfonietta and plays with the Aurora Quartet. He recently performed all Bach Suites for Solo Cello for Music at Aden.

Having graduated as a cellist from the Guildhall School of Music & Drama, Gareth later studied conducting and, among others, has conducted within the National Youth Orchestras of Scotland, the North Wales Youth Orchestra, Aberdeen Sinfonietta and a TV special for S4C. He is conductor of Aberdeen Chamber Orchestra with whom he has conducted many memorable concerts including Beethoven's Choral Symphony in the Music Hall.

Nataliia Naismith (violinist)

Ukrainian violinist, Nataliia Naismith graduated from the Tchaikovsky National Academy of Music in Kiev in 2010 and played professionally in orchestras before joining a string ensemble performing on cruise ships around the world. She now plays regularly with the Aberdeen Chamber Orchestra and Aberdeen Sinfonietta.

Growing up watching her pianist mother play, Nataliia started to play violin and piano at a young age and is now passing on her experience to young musicians as a violin teacher for Aberdeenshire Council.

Feedback from a performance by Gareth and Nataliia at a wedding

“A heartfelt thank you for helping create the perfect day. It was a joy to see you both enjoying playing as well as experiencing live music again.

Excellent, excellent - extremely talented musicians! What a delight to have Gareth & Natalia play – we truly felt like we had two talented musical friends joining our wedding day. Gareth recommended the perfect playlist, accommodated our requests and popped in a few extra songs to suit our guests. It created a magical, relaxing ambience for both us and our guests. Thank you again, Jenni & Chris“
